As the KOVE 650RR and 450R Euro 5+ versions move closer to launch, KOVE has completed a dedicated high-altitude test in Kangding, Sichuan, to further validate vehicle performance under demanding plateau conditions and optimize ECU calibration data.
Starting on May 19, 2026, KOVE’s high-altitude testing team, consisting of EFI calibration engineers and road testers, carried out a series of real-road tests across elevations from 2,000 to 4,000 meters. The test environment included low air pressure, low oxygen levels, low temperatures, strong winds, and continuous mountain roads, closely reflecting the challenges riders may face in high-altitude regions.
High-altitude riding places greater demands on engine performance and electronic control systems. Reduced oxygen levels can affect air intake efficiency, power output, throttle response, cold-start performance, and idle stability. During the test, the team focused on key calibration items including air pressure learning, fuel correction, ignition compensation, cold starts, idle stability, acceleration response, and high-altitude OBD diagnostics.
Despite altitude sickness, large temperature differences between day and night, complex road conditions, and changing weather, the testing team completed data collection, calibration review, and reliability validation according to the test plan. Through multiple riding scenarios, including uphill roads, downhill coasting, and rapid acceleration, the team verified the ECU adaptability and overall vehicle performance of both models under high-altitude conditions.
Following this round of testing, the 650RR and 450R Euro 5+ versions achieved further improvements in high-altitude power stability, acceleration response, cold-start performance, and overall environmental adaptability. The results also provide valuable data support for future model optimization, ECU calibration upgrades, and continuous product quality improvement.
Performance comes from demanding real-world testing, and reliability is built through repeated validation. KOVE will continue to carry out high-altitude, high-temperature, and extreme-cold testing to refine product performance and deliver motorcycles built for real riding conditions.
