KOVE At Dakar 2026: A Historic Milestone
SOURCE:KOVETIME:2026.01.18
Over 14 challenging days, the Dakar 2026 season has come to a close. This was KOVE's fourth appearance at the legendary rally, with the self-developed 450 Rally Ex proving itself on the world's toughest terrain. Our riders, especially #66 Neels Theric, showed remarkable resilience and performance.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS:

- #66 Neels Theric

After a tough start in the Prologue, surged from P115 to P24 on SS1. He claimed three R2 stage wins: SS4, SS5, and SS8, with SS4 being the first-ever R2 victory for a Chinese brand.

- #45 Sunier

With unwavering focus, Sunier finished P35 overall, just 3 places shy of his goal. However, his progress was clear. In SS10, he set a personal best, finishing P24. His journey doesn't end here. In next season, the goal is not just to break records, but to surpass them.

- Nine KOVE Riders

This season, 9 riders raced on KOVE 450 Rally Ex. Beyond our two factory riders, 7 privateers from different countries took on Dakar with us, including Dakar legend #27 Milan Engel (10+ Dakar finishes) and Isle of Man TT winner #50 James Hillier (retired after a crash on SS3).

Since our first Dakar in 2023, one goal has stayed the same: to earn the trust of more riders, and see more people choose KOVE.

Emotions ran the full spectrum. From the highs of victory to the tough battles in the dust, Dakar was a relentless test—but this is what makes it so irresistible. This wasn't just a race. It was a testament to KOVE's growth, to the power of perseverance, and to a Chinese brand fighting to thrive on the toughest stage the world has to offer.

We've come a long way, and we're just getting started.
